Hi. I Am Emily.
Set the gearshift for the high gear of your soul.
You know that feeling when you’re waiting for the lights to go down and the crowd cheers with anticipation. You hold your breath and your eyes light up and in a split second you’re overcome with joy. I live for that moment. There are only a few things in life that give me that kind of pleasure and let me tell you working out was not one of them.
My whole life I was out-of-shape, maybe not overweight but definitely out-of-shape. I was picked last for PE, I was the slowest at running the mile, and I played outfield in softball praying the ball wouldn’t come to me. After years of telling myself I’d never be athletic or even coordinated, and that I was ok with never going to the gym, I found home workouts.
I was almost 30, in the middle of getting my MBA, and loving my single-girl in the city life, but late night drinking and early morning classes were starting to take a toll. On the outside I was my bubbly, fun and care-free life-of-the party self but something inside needed to change. When a friend told me about her home workouts one night it was everything I’d been looking for and didn’t know I needed. I started right away and now 5 years later I’ve been pushing forward with my fitness and nutrition. I’ve gotten in the best shape of my life in my living room while making new friends in an online setting and motivating myself to stay committed.
The feeling I had when the lights go down was the same feeling I got when I completed a hard workout. The endorphins raced through my body and I just feel amazing, invincible, unstoppable! I kept thinking, “wow, if I can do this the anyone can do this!” I started small with a few workouts a week and a swapping French fries for side salads and after a few months it just clicked.
I’m here to share what’s worked for me and help you reach your goals. We all start as beginners and everyone’s path to to get there is different.
The net’s unbreakable so don’t worry about falling.
Combining the two things I love, Phish and fitness, to create a space that provides wellness for my body and soul.
